The Digital Marketing 5-Step Workshop Series

Over the course of 5 weeks, beginning lunchtime 15th November 2016, Community Futures Capital Region will be presenting workshops focused on helping small businesses create an effective and powerful Digital Marketing strategy. The workshops will take place at the Clean Energy Centre in Drayton Valley.

Who are the workshops for?

  • For small businesses owners who are doing their own marketing ie those who don’t have a team member to do it for them.
  • Home-based business owners and solopreneurs will, particularly, find the course very useful.

Session 1:  Digital Marketing Principles and Practices will kick off the series on the 15th November at 12 noon.

In this introductory 90 minute session, we will explore the principles and best practices that stand behind creating a powerful Digital Marketing strategy, regardless of the platform. We will cover:

  • The definition of digital marketing: what it is and isn’t and how it works as a whole for your business.
  • What platforms are used to disseminate digital marketing content ie website, social media and email marketing.
  • Key themes/concepts that span all digital marketing strategies ie Know, Like, Trust (KLT), Being Human, Being Useful, Story Telling
  • We’ll then look at the biggest mistake small business make when using digital media – and how to avoid it.

We will spend 60 minutes in presentation, discussion and activity.

The final 30 minutes is optional: I will stay to answer your questions should you have any about the material or about a challenge you are having with your own business.
